LERNBAHN
ABOUT
A complete renaming, rebranding, and execution of the full production and rollout for Sonderschule Schaffhausen. The goal: to give the school and its students a more positive, empowering identity—free from the stigma often associated with the term “special needs.”
Challenge
We were tasked with developing a new name and brand for Sonderschule Schaffhausen, a school for children with special needs. The existing name carried limiting and stigmatizing connotations. Our mission was to create a new, uplifting identity that reflects dignity, inclusivity, and pride, giving the students a chance to attend a school with a name that supports their future rather than defining their limitations.
Approach
We began with an in-depth naming process that spanned four months, guided by workshops, stakeholder involvement, and iterative refinement. Once the new name direction emerged, we moved into the design phase and developed three distinct brand concepts. The client selected their preferred direction, and we built the full brand system around it.
Afterward, we produced all required image and video assets, designed a fully manageable website for the school, and handled the production and ordering of all printed materials.
