Panzerwagen

We produced a documentary about four-time World Champion Tony Martin, one of the greatest time trial cyclists in history. The film explores his legacy, his rivalries, and the pivotal moments that defined his career.

Challenge

This project was entirely self-funded and filmed over the course of six months with Tony. To enrich the narrative, we brought in additional cycling legends including Fabian Cancellara, Tom Dumoulin, and Marcel Kittel.

A key challenge was securing rights to essential live race footage, which required negotiating a usage agreement with the UCI. This archival material became the backbone of the story.

Approach

We structured the documentary around the live footage we were able to license—ultimately focusing on Tony’s four world championship titles. We then conducted interviews with former teammates, rivals, and family members to build a multi-layered portrait of his journey.

The final film was released on YouTube, where it has already surpassed 80,000 views for a 40-minute documentary. For distribution, we partnered with Paul Lange and Giant Germany to expand reach within the cycling community.
